"The Last of Us" is one of the most memorable video game journeys of all time, so when the trailer of the upcoming movie "Logan" went out, Naughty Dog's award-winning game immediately sprung to mind.

One cannot avoid but to compare Hugh Jackman's character in "Logan" to "The Last of Us"'s main character, Joel. From the scruffy looking beard to the bloodied clothes in some parts, Jackman in "Logan" is definitely Joel personified, and lots of "The Last of Us" fans agree.

The trailer even revealed that he will be introduced to a young girl, who will be accompanying him throughout his journey. If that does not remind you of Ellie and Joel's partnership in "The Last of Us," we don't know what will.

Some fans have already done mashups of "Logan" and "The Last of Us," and the video below is one of our favorites.

Prior to the reveal of the trailer for Fox's upcoming film "Logan," a lot of fans have already considered the Aussie actor to be in the top running for the role of Joel in the movie adaptation of the popular video game.

Proven to be a versatile actor with his stints that range from "X-men" to "Les Misérables," Jackman can portray a perfect Joel in the fans' eyes. His appearance in "Logan" just serves as a strong confirmation that he also has the looks down pat.

So who else is perfect for the role? Second choice would be another top actor Josh Brolin. Brolin has also shown serious acting chops in his roles in "No Country For Old Men" and "Men In Black 3." The actor has also done motion capture for Marvel's fearsome antagonist, Thanos.

The third actor we would like to see play Joel is Gerard Butler. The "300" and "Olympus Has Fallen" actor has proven that he can do excellent action scenes, and has an extensive filmography as well.

However, fans would have to wait a bit longer for the movie adaptation of "The Last of Us" to materialize. The film has been stuck in production hell for a long time, and has not been heard of for quite a while.

We might not see both the movie and the sequel for "The Last Of Us" anytime soon, but there's plenty of things to get excited about. Stay tuned for updates here.
