It looks like CD Projekt Red is pouring all of its resources on its upcoming "The Witcher 3" card game spin off "GWENT: The Witcher Card Game."

In the company's latest earnings report, CD Projekt Red's two upcoming games were mentioned, namely "Gwent" and "Cyberpunk 2077." According to Gamespot, the company acknowledged that overall game development spending figures has increased due to these ongoing projects, particularly "GWENT," which started its closed beta phase a few weeks ago.

"The third quarter was marked by preparations for the launch of the closed beta of 'GWENT: The Witcher Card Game', which occurred on 25 October," Cd Projekt S.A. President Adam Kiciński said. "In the coming months both the Studio and GOG will concentrate on testing and refining various aspects of the game."

"Gwent: The Witcher Card Game" looks like a fun, addictive game. In our closed beta impressions article, we said that just like the minigame in "The Witcher," you'll find yourself playing for hours on end. This is apparently the effect that CD Projekt Red is going for.

"We want to ensure that 'GWENT's high quality acts as a magnet, attracting players from around the world and encouraging them to play round after round," Kiciński confirmed.

In other news, CD Projekt Red's main game "The Witcher 3" continues to rake in the cash for the Polish game developer. The game has continued to exhibit high sales last quarter, despite being out for more than a year now.

"Excellent sales of 'The Witcher 3' plus expansion packs, observed in the third quarter, confirm that despite having been out for a year and a half, the game continues to attract new fans," CD Projekt Red Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz said in a press release.

Nielubowicz also predicted that all will be good on the sales front, especially now that Christmas is just around the corner.

"GWENT: The Witcher Card Game" is expected to be on closed beta until Spring 2017, although this is just a rough estimate, according to its official website
