Xbox One Project Scorpio Release Just A Year Away? Here's What You Should Know
C. de LacyThose who have been preparing for the Xbox Scorpio should have at least some of these things on their checklists now.
Project Scorpio is rumored to be coming in roughly about a year from now and fans are extremely excited about it for a couple of reasons. One thing to take note of is that Microsoft's latest upcoming console is way more powerful than that of the PlayStation 4 Pro. This is proven by the console's true 4K capability and some more.
We've covered a report regarding the status of the development of the Project Scorpio and it was a strong indication that the team behind the latest console in the making is making good progress at a more than satisfactory rate.
Phil Spencer himself tweeted that they are making a "amazing" progress and are feeling good about the schedule. This could mean an earlier release for the console, which will be a big surprise for us all.
Due to this, it should have already be known to fans that the console is indeed going to be a premium item. This isn't in a sense that the original Xbox One is cheap because it isn't. The Project Scorpio, according to a recent report we've covered, is unusually more expensive than those consoles we've seen before on their initial releases. This has been confirmed by Phil Spencer himself on various interviews.
Finally, for those speculating about the Project Scorpio totally replacing the PC might have to reconsider, especially if the only reason behind the urge to get one is the belief of getting more out of it as a PC replacement.
At the moment, the Project Scorpio is being tailored as a console compatible with UWP Appx format. This is the same format that most Steam games use, though it is still in its earlier stages. There's no guarantee that the experience from playing on a PC can be replicated into a 1:1 ratio in terms of gameplay, visuals, features and even tweakability.
Things are shaping up to be good for the Project Scorpio, and fans can be sure that like the previous console entries from Microsoft, it is sure to be another technological leap.
