Motorola has silently rolled out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update for two of its eligible device. Let's find out more.

For the updates, Motorola hasn't released any notification, but the release came as surprise a week ago for Moto Z and Moto Z Force owners, who began receiving a surprise update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

Later Motorola confirmed the update and announced that both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force would receive Android 7.0 Nougat beginning this week across the globe. Since they are saying "globally," that should mean the Moto Z DROID and Moto Z Force DROID in the US on Verizon, along with the unlocked Moto Z.

With the new update, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be fully supported in Daydream along with other features like split-screen mode, quick app switching, bundled notifications, new notification settings, new quick settings toggles, new emoji and slideout menu in settings.

So far, the only smartphones to support Daydream have been Google's own Pixel and Pixel XL and more smartphones are expected to be Daydream-ready soon, but Motorola has put forward its name in the world of Smartphone VR.

To take advantage of the Daydream platform, you will also need to purchase Google's $79 Daydream View headset with controller that is available at the Google Store, Verizon and Best Buy in the United States.

Other Motorola phones that will receive the Nougat update are the following: Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Play, and Moto Z Play Droid.

There were no announcement regarding the general release of Android 7.0 Nougat for other devices. However we expect that Motorola will finish up the updates by the end of the year.
