A Comprehensive Look On Huawei Mate 9: Great Battery Life, Insanely Fast Charging, Monochrome Feature, And More! [VIDEO]
Portia Mae M. CansancioNowadays, more and more smartphone companies are launching large-screen phones because of people's rising interest in it. Thus, the birth of Huawei Mate 9 --- now considered as the best phablet in the world. However, the Mate 9 is only best for those who are more into long-lasting battery life, fast charging, and monochrome feature.
The Huawei Mate 9 is a 5.9-inch phone with the latest octa-core, Huawei 960 Kirin chipset, paired with a Mali-G71 graphics chip. It also has 4GB of RAM; 64GB of storage, which is also expandable thru microSD cards; dual-camera on the back at 20- and 12-megapixels; an 8-megapixel front camera; a fingerprint sensor; and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, along with Huawei's latest user interface: the EMUI 5.0. It has a large screen, but only has a full HD resolution as compared to its competitors. It isn't waterproof, too.
All Huawei phones have good build quality and the Huawei Mate 9 is no exception. However, they all have generic designs; Mate 9's design is pretty close to its predecessor, Mate 8. It needs to have more eye-catching and elegant designs other than its thin bezels, its pronounced speaker grille, and its ever-so-lightly curved edges. All also have the same problem when it comes to visibility under the sunlight; thus, the Mate 9's screen is made brighter and better.
The Huawei Mate 9's somewhat low-resolution screen is also deemed as a good advantage. It doesn't eat up a lot of power; hence, a better battery --- 4,000mAh that comes with Huawei's SuperCharge feature. The phone never lasts for less than a day and even has 30% battery life at night. Its supercharging feature is even better --- only 2 hours of charging and can be fully charged right away from a 10% battery life, according to Mashable.
Moreover, the Huawei Mate 9's dual-camera has optical image stabilization --- with an advanced bokeh mode and a 20-megapixel sensor. It may only be 20 megapixels, but it's only for one camera and takes photos in monochrome. The bokeh mode also only works in certain conditions like when the subject is near or flat towards the camera.
The Huawei Mate 9 is indeed an ambitious device, polished and powerful even. But compared to its competitors, it still has a lot to improve on. On a brighter note, it has a lot of aspects to look forward to The Huawei Mate 9 is now available in Europe for 699 euros ($750) and will be available soon in the United States.
