Niantic Develops Their Own Wearable ‘Pokemon Go’ Device Causing Delay To Game Apple Watch App
Gloven RamosThe "Pokemon Go" developer Niantic was reportedly developing a new wearable gadget to play the Pokemon game. This wearable gadget has said causing delay to recently reported Apple Watch app.
The "Pokemon Go" app in Apple Watch was reported on its development, but recently delayed. This new wearable device of Niantic has said the reason for the delay of the app until next year in 2017, and there are even reports that it might be headed for cancellation.
The wearable device called "Nex + Ingress Band" appears to be very similar to Nex Band Evolution that originally began pre-orders earlier this year. The campaign for this product disappeared, but now it appears and it is resurfacing through a licensing deal with Niantic and a rebranded updated version of the Nex Band called Evolution for "Pokemon Go" game.
BGR report cited that Niantic is working on a wearable device of its own, built specifically to interact with its games like the "Pokemon Go." The developer is working with the company behind the Nex Band device, and next month on January, they will announce an Ingress-branded smart brand.
Niantic posted a tweet saying the "Pokemon Go" Apple Watch app is coming soon, yet no official date when it will be released and available. The developer has promised the app this December, but unfortunately they wouldn't make it to the deadline.
According to 9To5Mac report, Niantic was stalling in part. Early next month the company is planning to announce its own hardware product, the wrist wearable and it appears to be licensing and branding for its games.
The report suggests this is probably why the "Pokemon Go" Apple Watch app isn't out yet. According to some sources, it's also why the developer was seemingly giving out statements and refusing to confirm delays.
There is no official release date yet for the "Pokemon Go" in Apple Watch app. The same for the Niantic wearable device, but probably this both will be released in 2017.
