Xbox Head Phil Spencer claims that the upcoming Xbox Scorpio will be more powerful than the Playstation 4 Pro according to a report by zenexp. It will be priced at a range of a premium gaming PC. Let's check out the specs and features.

Under the hood

Xbox Scorpio will bring the next generation of 4K consoles that is reportedly better than the Playstation 4 Pro with a Vefa CPU hardware and AMD Zen CPU that allows high-performance 4K gaming. This will have six Trillion Floating Point Operations Per Second (TFLOP) of power compared to Playstation 4 Pro's 4.2 TFLOP according to reports. The system will have 320GB of memory. Xbox Scorpio will be 40 percent faster that the Playstation 4 Pro.

What to expect

Microsoft stated that the Xbox Scorpio will have a backwards compatibility with Xbox One games and is also capable of VR, although Phil Spencer doesn't feel the technology is quite there yet in regards to the same. Additionally, developing exclusive games to the Xbox Scorpio will be entirely up to the game developers.

The future for Xbox gaming consoles

Aaron Greenberg, Xbox Head of Games Marketing, stated that with the arrival of Xbox Scorpio, it will mark the end for traditional console development for Microsoft. If the new system is a success, people will change the way they think about the future of console gaming.

Xbox Scorpio is already in production as Phil Spencer posted on his Twitter account and is reported to be available in time for the holiday season of 2017. Microsoft usually launches their newest consoles around November. Xbox fans have that to look forward to.
