Mobile gaming is an underrated niche in the gaming world albeit millions of followers. "Pokemon Go" and "Super Mario Run" are classic examples of what potential this industry packs. Who wouldn't want a game that can be played anywhere?

At any rate, it is MobileNApps' aim to list down the most successful and best of mobile games that invaded this 2016. So without much ado, here are the mobile games that gave us different insight about game on-the-go.

Whenever smartphones are getting mentioned and gaming is the sub-topic, "Pokemon Go" will always be on top. It is a hard to debunk argument that this augmented reality game has indeed toppled even sub-par console games this year. Niantic made a good move of making "Pokemon Go" a mix of mobile gaming, socialization and exploration that covers basically the whole globe as its playground.

"Clash of Clans" is the crowning glory for developer Supercell and yet, they smashed competition by making another blockbuster in "Clash Royale." Freemium "Clash Royale" is a bit different that its predecessor in a sense that this one presents a mixture of multiplayer, tower management and card battles. "Clash Royale" is also known as bankable paid mobile game in special items like chests and tournaments.

It appears that GO versions are going to be a mainstay in mobile gaming. AAA developer Square Enix made a brilliant experiment in mobile gaming when they release "Deus Ex GO." Hack-and-slash plus stealth gameplay is what made "Deus Ex GO" a worthwhile mobile game. Yes, consider "Hitman GO," "Lara Croft GO" and others that have the have name suffix as well.

Another, console game developer that found a new haven in mobile gaming is Rockstar. The mind behind hit GTA series taunts "Bully: Anniversary Edition" where players can become bosses in schools. Mobile game "Bully: Anniversary Edition" packs a ton of PG-13 gameplay and great bully characters. Of course, it is hard to become an actual bully without ending in the principal's office.

In the end, "Bully: Anniversary Edition" is somewhat controversial in its approach to mobile gaming due to its chosen theme. However, it is hard to argue that it isn't a brilliant game.
