"Gravity Rush 2" will be released this coming January 2017. But before this official game launches, an animated video was released to fill the story and the narrative gap between the first and second series of the game.

The prequel animated video is titled "Gravity Rush: The Animation - Overture." This video is divided into two parts, first is focused on the last part of the first game, and the second part is before the "Gravity Rush 2" game story started.

The total of 19 minutes animated prequel video will tell and explain why the Nevi are becoming more aggressive in the sequel. Critics highly suggested, before playing the game when becomes available, to be sure to watch the prequel video first for this will surely give important information on the game's plot.

Even some reports suggested to finish the first game before watching the animated short film. It may sound too extreme, but if you like to appreciate the story behind "Gravity Rush" and continuing with "Gravity Rush 2," this suggestion makes perfect sense.

As the Forbes stated in a report, the animated prequel video is nice with a punchy score from the famous composer, Kohei Tanaka. Sony Interactive Entertainment together with Japan Studio and Studio Khara uploaded the "Gravity Rush 2" animated prequel, with English subtitles, in the official PlayStation channel in YouTube.

The game sequel was first announced on September 2015 at Sony's Tokyo Game Show 2015. A remastered version of the first game was released in Japan last year for PS4, to be followed by a worldwide release in February next year. In Japan, the game known as "Gravity Daze."
