The Fitbit should up its fitness tracking game because another competitor will be out in the market soon: the Motiv Ring. Compared to the Fitbit, which is a wearable fitness tracker with a wristband, the Motiv comes in a much portable ring-form.

Wareable has recently revealed the specs of the upcoming fitness tracking device, and the Motiv Ring comes in either rose gold or slate gray. The fitness tracking ring is only 8mm wide and will be available in seven different sizes.

The Motiv is also waterproof for depths up to 50 meters and can be used while swimming, or even while taking a bath or a shower. The device also features a LED sensor that users can check while charging or syncing.

Eager technophiles will be pleased to know that the Motiv has an optical heart rate sensor along with a 3-axis accelerometer. The accelerometer can track a user's current activity, active minutes, resting heart rate, distance traveled, steps and more.

However, it looks like Android users will be left out of the Motiv's companion smartphone app, which is only available for the iOS. The app will help users manage their daily goals and their daily targets.

According to Macworld, the ring will cost $200 and will start shipping in March 2017. The Motiv will need charging after every five days, up to 5 days, and Motiv's team shared that the ring is as accurate as a chest strap.

To ensure that the ring fits users perfectly, interested buyers will receive a sizing kit in the mail. The kit comes with seven ring sizes, and recipients are advised to wear their chosen size at least a whole day to make sure that the ring will still fit as you go about your day-to-day activities and experience various temperature changes.

The video below is from Motiv's official YouTube channel and showcases the versatility of the device. The Motiv ring can be used while working out, swimming, in the shower, and hiking, among other activities.
