'Pokémon Sun And Moon': Pokemon Bank Update To Arrive This January; Here's What You Need To Know [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelGame Freak's role-playing video games "Pokemon Sun And Moon" took the gaming realm by storm when it released worldwide in November last year. Both "Sun and Moon" have received bevies of updates to keep avid gamers glued to the Nintendo 3DS exclusive games.
In line with this, the game developer recently spilled the beans about the upcoming Pokemon bank. And based on the info it looks like it may receive mixed reactions from ardent players of "Pokemon Sun And Moon."
While some veteran trainers continue to see if their Pokemon Bank app can transfer their Pokemon from "X and Y" or "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" early, which is not possible. they will be able to bring in Pokemon from past adventures thanks to an update to Pokemon Bank which is slated to arrive this month, according to a blog post at the game's official website.
Pokemon Bank is downloadable software that allows players to put Pokemon they have collected in their game into online storage boxes. With the January update, this feature will be available on "Pokemon Sun And Moon."
Pokemon Bank is currently supported and available for "Pokemon X and Y," "Pokemon Omega Ruby," and "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire." In other words, the aforesaid update will enable trainers to encounter some coveted Pokemon from previous generations. However, there is a catch!
The Pokemon Bank will be nothing like the current Pokebanks since once a player shifts a Pokemon into Generation VII. He/she will be unable to transfer it back. Bearing the above infographic in mind, it is obvious that all Pokemon moved from Generation I, V and VI into Generation VII will no longer be able to go back.
The upcoming update is expected to radically affect the decision making of some trainers as "Pokemon Sun And Moon" does feature only 16 out of 47 Mega Stones from Generation VI. All the Mega Stones can be acquired from the Battle Tree.
However, it's worth noting that players cannot transfer items via Pokebank. Meaning, they cannot transfer all their Mega Stones from Gen VI into "Pokemon Sun And Moon," according to a video footage posted by YouTuber, Austin John.
This would be the first time that critters hailing from Generation I will be able to move outside of Generation II. It remains to be seen how the team behind "Pokemon Sun And Moon" tweaks the Pokemon Bank to make room for the Pokemon transferred from Generation I into the current one.
It's especially because there are a lot of features that were unavailable back then. For instance, in Generation I, Pokemon sport only four IVs i.e. Special, Speed, Attack and Defense.
