iPad users are greatly anticipating a new tablet release from Apple this year. Earlier reports indicate that two iPad Pro models could come this 2017.

Size variants

If predictions are true, the public could see a second-gen iPad Pro and another variant with a 10.5-inch screen this year. The latter would be a new tablet offering from Apple and is expected to substitute the earlier released 9.7-inch iPad Pro model.

Release date

The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to be released this coming March but a delay in the production of A10x chips could also result to a delay in the launch of the device. Apple's iPad Pro 2 is believed to run in this new and faster chipset offering.

iPad Pro specs and features

When it comes out this year, the iPad Pro 2 is thought to be lighter and slimmer making it easier to carry anywhere. It is also expected to be water resistant but could ditch the headphone port just like what Apple did to the iPhone 7 last year.

There are also speculations that Apple could do away with the physical home button to make the display bigger for the users. However, it is claimed that a fingerprint scanner feature will still be made available but will be a screen built-in.

Camera improvements

Another highlight for the upcoming device is the possible addition of a True Tone flash in the camera of the iPad Pro 2. This feature will allow users to shoot clearer low-light shots and also Live Photos with the device. A 5MP front-facing secondary camera may also come with a Retina Flash for better selfie and groupie pictures.

The iPad Pro 2 could also run on the iOS 10 since the upcoming Apple operating system which is the iOS 11 could only be announced this coming June. This means that the new tablet offering will run in the same OS as the earlier released iPad models.
