It looks like fans of Crash Bandicoot will soon have something to cheer about as the eastern barred bandicoot is likely to make an appearance in a brand new game following the "N Sane Trilogy" release date.

"Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy," which recreates the first three games in the Crash Bandicoot series, is slated to hit the store shelves this year. With its release date just around the corner, avid gamers are restlessly waiting to figure out what the iconic game character has in store for them this time.

During a recent interview with Express Online, the team behind the project shed more light on whether or not fans will be treated to more Crash after the trilogy of remakes. A spokesperson noted that everybody is waiting with bated breath for a new Crash game; further adding that it's quite exciting that Crash is finally making a comeback.

A new Crash Bandicoot game could come to fruition provided the N. Sane trilogy garners huge success. The upcoming Crash Bandicoot PS4 remakes have been associated with a Feb. 28 shipping date leaked by a Brazilian retailer. However, this release window seems quite unlikely as this would coincide with "Horizon: Zero Dawn" arrival.

Moreover, the future prospects of the game also seem quite vulnerable considering that Activision still owns the rights to the fan-favorite franchise; however, Sony was able to acquire a minor role in "Uncharted 4" without giving a single credit to Activision. As expected, this has stirred conversations among avid gamers that Sony could have finally manage to acquire rights to Crash Bandicoot, Fansided reported.

If the aforesaid report is anything to go by, this remake is not likely to stop at just the remastered trilogy. In other words, Crash Bandicoot and his gang could soon be teaming up with Super Mario and Link and churn out cash cows for Nintendo.
