Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Gear Fit2 & Best Buy Deal: Samsung Offering Wearable For Free In The US
Ritwik RoySamsung fans, who are thinking of purchasing a Galaxy S7 Edge may get a Gear Fit2 wearable for free as the company wants its users to get fit this year. The deal is available only to US customers until Jan. 15. The regular Samsung Galaxy S7 is not included in the deal though Best Buy is reportedly offering the same deal and it includes both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Active.
According to Tech Times, Best Buy is offering the Samsung Gear Fit 2 with all the three handsets though the buyer has to go for a monthly installment plan with Verizon, Sprint and AT&T. However, things get pretty confusing here as Best Buy is directing users to the Samsung promo page to register for the free gift. This page only lists Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and not the other two.
Best Buy needs to make it clear if it is really offering the Gear Fit 2 with Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Active and if yes, how to register for the free gift. The Best Buy promotion is also running for the same time period, Jan. 6 to Jan. 15, similar to the Samsung promotion. The Samsung promotion is offering the wearable with the Galaxy S7 Edge unlocked or on any of the four major carriers in the US, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
A Samsung Gear Fit2 costs $129.99. Thus, it's a huge saving for fans who are going to get a new Galaxy S7 Edge as they don't have to pay a single penny for the wearable. Users can also go directly to the Samsung online store and add the wearable to their cart before checkout. They will get it for free. The Samsung Gear Fit2 is a fitness band from the South Korean tech giant that tracks speed & distance, user's running route, cycling stats, heart rate, calories burned etc.
The Samsung Gear Fit2 has a built-in GPS and is IP68 certified. It has a 1.5-inch Super-AMOLED curved display and can be paired with Galaxy devices with a minimum 1.5 GB RAM and running Android 4.3 or higher.
