Final Fantasy 15 Glitch Lets Players Discover Unused Areas Of Nilfheim; New Locations Unlockable In Future DLCs?
Rei Lantion"Final Fantasy XV" was officially released on November 26, 2016 and it seems to be smooth sailing so far for this series' new installment.
Any major gameplay bugs and glitches were caught when game developer Square Enix released their demo disc in Japan. There were a few laughable ones, such as disappearing background objects and fish floating in the air but by and large, "Final Fantasy XV" can be chalked up as another successful sequel bearing the FF name.
A recent video posted by YouTube user Fotm Hero brought to light one interesting glitch in Final Fantasy XV. It's not so much a graphics or coding glitch as it is a map bug that lets players explore scrapped or unused areas in Nilfheim.
The character is able to go through the game barriers and fully explore new areas. There are no other NPC's in these areas, giving them that distinct, abandoned ghost town feel which makes the video an hour-long special of watching the character run around while players enjoy the scenery. Check it out below.
The video description has a handy little timestamp for all the areas explored, for anyone who feels the need to skip. And although some areas are definitely more fleshed out than others, each area looks to be a complete, functioning, interactive world.
It seems to be a huge waste to not include them in the main storyline. On the other hand, VG 24/7 posits that these areas may not be entirely "scrapped" and says that players may get to explore them further in future DLCs.
Siliconera also mentions the sheer size of these areas and how their inclusion in the full release of the game would have caused a delayed release. They may have touched on something there, as fans have been commenting in the video how the game needed more time. Others are calling it a "missed potential."
Whether or not the game was "unfinished" can neither be confirmed nor denied. Square Enix has announced more upcoming cutscenes and expansions for "Final Fantasy XV." So, it's possible fans will be seeing these areas as part of the main gameplay. With no official statement, this remains a fan theory.
