Disney Kids TV Box Streams Kid-Friendly Media And Games
Caroline Soriano2017, perhaps, is the best year not only for the adult gamers but also to the little ones. Disney, for instance, will license a set-top box that enables the user to play games and stream media. The Disney Kids TV, as they plan to call it, is a set-top box that will be placed in a kid's room. There is no expected date yet but the company is looking forward to launching it this year.
The streaming box is preloaded with Disney video games and media and supports 4K resolution. The company that is developing some Nintendo Switch peripherals will also handle the designing of the device. Manufacturer Snakebyte intends to create a tech that will appeal mostly to the kids.
This means that kids will be somehow far from seeing anything that needs a lot of parental guidance as Disney Kids TV is meant to showcase kid-friendly TV shows, movies, and games. It's like a child's tablet, however, the device serves as a vehicle for kid-friendly content brought by Disney. According to Polygon, the box is expected to launch this year and will cost around $99. However, no exact date was given in regards to its launching.
Together with the Disney Kids TV is a Disney-branded controller which will cost around $39. The device is optional and users are allowed to use other Bluetooth controllers for the box. Meanwhile, IGN reported that it lets users download any game or media from the Google Play Store.
It was remembered that Disney had unexpectedly dropped its Disney Infinity toys-to-life line, leaving the console and PC video games developments behind. However, Disney Kids TV will only be licensed by Disney, not manufactured. As of now, the box has no list of games but just to have a safe assumption, it will have the kids as its target market and will probably be consistent with the offerings from Google Play.
