All New Nvidia Shield TV 2017 Is Now Available at Best Buy; Features; Price
Keisuke AkioNvidia Shield TV is now available at Best Buy. A customer showed his purchased Nvidia Shield TV from the store prior to its official release.
Nvidia's latest and highly anticipated Nvidia Shield TV 2017 has not been officially released yet. However, Best Buy apparently already has the stocks on its shelves. Recently, Best Buy online listings for the Shield TV 2017 and Shield TV Pro only allow pre-orders; but some stores actually have the base model on hand.
According to Android Authority, one tipster was able to purchase a unit from his local Best Buy store. The owner reported that the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 he bought did not come with the pre-installed Android 7. However, there is an available update to Nougat found on the outside part of the box.
Nvidia Shield TV 2017 Features
Among the stunning features of the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 is the ability to stream 4K HDR content, including those from Amazon and Netflix. This is the first entertainment platform to back the complete library of both Amazon and Netflix in the high-resolution standard. It also supports 4K services from YouTube, Google Play and PC games. Furthermore, there is a Steam app from Valve that allows you to connect to your PC and stream 4K HDR games from your computer direct to your TV.
Moreover, the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 supports Google Assistant -- the Android maker's response to Apple's Siri. With Nvidia Shield TV 2017, you can talk with the Shield as you would another personal assistant device like Amazon Echo or Google Home. The Google Assistant will then speak to you through your TV.
For the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 to pick up your voice anywhere in your house, the company has developed a microphone called Spot. Numerous tiny black mics can be positioned in your entire house and Spot will configure and triangulate your site based on your voice.
The Nvidia Shield TV 2017 can also accomplish tasks such as searching for movies and TV shows for you to watch, turning on the coffee pot and closing your house if you are going out for the day. As Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang puts it, the new Nvidia Shield TV 2017, Google Assistant combo and Spot are like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Jarvis smart home AI. The difference is that this one is available to everyone, reported Tech Radar.
Release Date & Price
The Nvidia Shield TV 2017 will cost $199. During the CES 2017 Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang did not announce a release date.
