A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasted off on Saturday from California. People have been excited about this innovation in the field of science and technology.

According to Fox News, this is the first rocket launch coming from the private space exploration company, SpaceX since a fireball overran the same rocket from Florida launch pad last September.

The Falcon 9 two-stage rockets blasted off into space from Vandenberg Air Force Base a 9.45 a.m. It took a payload of 10 communication satellites into the orbit for Iridium Communications Inc. These satellites were sent off for about an hour after launch. About 9 minutes after its launch, the rocket touched down the first-stage mechanism successfully on the Pacific Ocean, south of Vanderberg. Notably, the company wants to reuse the rockets for their next missions in order to cut the cost of their future space travel.

According to CNBC, the landing of the rocket is very important for SpaceX's founder, Elon Musk, for it will start to clear the backlog of the company with their 70 launches costing about more than $10 billion.

With the explosion that happened last year during the preflight testing at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, the company has said that they have investigated the causes and already took corrective actions. They have determined that a canister of helium burst inside the liquid oxygen tank which has triggered the explosion. The rocket that was launched is already modified - where the helium canister has been redesigned.

The accident has destroyed a $62 million SpaceX booster and a $200 million Israeli communications satellite that it was out into orbit two days later. The 10 satellites of are part of Iridium's project in replacing the existing satellites that provides a global data and voice communications.Iridium plans to be launching six more Falcon 9, ecah with 10 satellites which are expected to be completed by 2018.SpaceX aims to launch 27 rokets in 2017 as per Wall Street Journal.
