NVIDIA Shield TV 2015 Gets Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0; 2017 Version Still Better? See Details Here
Caitlin MooreNVIDIA released the Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0 that added new features to the original Shield TV 2015 version. The same features are included in the upcoming Shield TV 2017 announced at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Continue reading below to see the latest updates carried by the Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0.
It is important to note that though the features in the Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0 are already packed in the Shield TV 2017 out of the box, the new TV still sports some latest technologies that are not offered by the upgrade. As revealed at CES 2017, the Shield TV 2017 has an improved performance while some of its news features include the Google Assistant Smart Home Control system, The Verge reported.
However, it doesn't mean that Shield TV 2015 cannot deliver new TV experience. Now that Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0 is already available, users can actually enjoy Amazon Video where they can stream several movies and TV shows. Additionally, those with Amazon Prime membership could also take advantage of exclusive Amazon original shows such as "The Grand Tour."
Apart from Amazon Video, users may also access the NVIDIA Games app, a library of games available on SHIELD. The app is said to be a replacement to the SHIELD Hub app but it will be rolled out in the next weeks through a Google Play Store update. Some games included in the NVIDIA app are GeForce NOW, GameStream and exclusive Android games.
GeForce NOW performance has been upgraded too. Users can now enjoy PC games instantly while taking advantage of performance up to GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. Speaking of gaming, GameStream also received an upgrade, which now supports 4K HDR with smoother and low-latency streaming.
More information about Shield Experience Upgrade 5.0 can be found in the official NVIDIA release notes. In the meantime, tell us what you can say about the upgraded Shield TV 2015 version. Do you think the upcoming Shield TV 2017 is worth buying too?
