Google Smartwatch Update: 'LG Watch Sport' & 'LG Watch Style' Might Be Released On February 9 With Android Wear 2.0
Ceage SottoAndroid Wear 2.0 might probably be out on February 9, along with Google's upcoming smartwatch. Last year, the company confirmed the launch of a pair of flagship smartwatches.
According to Ars Technica, leaker Evan Blass is positive that Android Wear 2.0 is due on February 9. The prolific leaker also claimed Google will also be releasing both of its flagship smartwatches.
Blass stated that the watches are made by LG and are called the "LG Watch Sport" and "LG Watch Style." So far Google has not yet commented on the alleged release date for the new OS. The company has also not commented on the smartwatches.
Android Police has been tracking the Google smartwatch since July of last year. According to Blass the mockup produced by the website closely resembles the smartwatch.
The larger "Sport" watch will probably have a 14.2mm thick body. The smartwatch might go with a 1.38-inch 480×480 circular P-OLED display, 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.
It could also have a 420mAh battery and a heart rate sensor. It would surely have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth plus 3G and LTE data. It's also noted that it could support GPS, and NFC for Android Pay compatibility.
The "Style," on the other hand, might not be as flashy as the larger "Sport" Watch. It could have a 10.8mm thick body and a 1.2-inch 360×360 circular P-OLED display. A slower 512MB of RAM but the same 4GB of storage.
It might have a smaller capacity 240mAh battery and lacks cellular connectivity. It could also not also be equipped with GPS, NFC, and the heart rate monitor of the "Sport version."
It's likely that both of the smartwatches will be having the Snapdragon Wear 2100 or 1100. Blass believes that Google's flagship smartwatch could have a digital crown button for navigation.
