While the rumor mill has not ceased swirling speculations around Apple's upcoming devices including a 2017 variant of the iMac, and a new iPad Pro, latest reports are now claiming that the Cupertino-based company could be gearing up to release an upgraded version of the Apple Pencil alongside a new iPad Pro this year.

Despite the lack of an official announcement, the internet is brimming with reports that claim to unravel the aces Apple has up its sleeve for its highly anticipated devices that are slated to hit the store shelves in 2017. It's worth noting that the tech giant has neither confirmed nor denied most of these speculations.

Now, a Chinese website Wei Feng (via Mashable) is suggesting that Apple could take the wraps off an updated stylus alongside the long-rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro sometime in March this year -- in the nick of time for an iPad refresh. As expected, this stirred conversation among Apple iPad fans who have been clamoring for an iPad Pro refresh.

The iPad lineup received an update in the form of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro nearly a year ago, whereas, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro has not received a major update since it launched two years back. This could actually be the right time for Apple to come out with an iPad refresh alongside the Apple Pencil 2.

Apple Pencil 2: What To Expect

Regrettably, Apple has not spilled the beans about Apple Pencil 2's release date, specs, and other features; however, this hasn't stopped some optimistic tech pundits from hazarding guesses. The Apple blog, LetemSvetemApplem, which is no stranger to leaking Apple products, suggests the purported stylus could feature magnets to attach it to iPads, iPad covers or possibly some sort of Smart Connector support such as wireless charging.

It can be recalled that Apple filed a patent for a stylus, which reportedly had the ability to magnetically connect to the side of a tablet back in 2015. In other words, magnetic connectors could indeed be in the offing in near future.

There's no official word about the Apple Pencil 2; however, based on latest reports it looks like Apple is bent on answering prayers of the iPad's huge fanbase. Stay tuned in here for more updates and news about the Apple Pencil 2.
