There are plenty of discussions about who is going to pose the biggest challenge among the line-up of confirmed supervillains in the fighting game "Injustice 2." This PlayStation 4 game from NetherRealm Studio is already available for pre-download.

Reports have already confirmed the list of the most formidable supervillains that are going to unleash their nerve-wracking powers against DC universe's mightiest heroes. These supervillains are already confirmed for "Injustice 2" when it releases on May 16 this year.

Darkseid tops the list of "Injustice 2" supervillains. There are only 2 known DC characters that were able to survive his Omega Beams- Superman and Doomsday. Darkseid's Omega Beam is so powerful that any lesser hero will instantaneously dissipate when they get hit. Darkseid character may not have an actual part in the storyline because NetherRealm confirmed that he is only available as part of pre-order DLC, PlayStation Universe said.

Another dark force to reckon with in "Injustice 2" is the collector of planets, Brainiac. DC described Brainiac as an "unrelenting collector" that shrinks inhabited planets and puts them in a bottle. From miniature versions, Brainiac will proceed to learn the technology of the worlds he conquered. There are thoughts that given Brainiac's formidability, he is going to be the main supervillain in "Injustice 2."

The ape Gorilla Grodd includes the achievement of almost killing The Flash in his "Injustice 2" repertoire. Gorilla Grodd is a super-genius ape with the ability to sneak in people's mind and control them telepathically, Injustice Wiki described. "Injustice 2" did well in adding the attempts of Gorilla Grodd to control the whole world in the storyline.

Lastly, another inter-galactic supervillain inhabits "Injustice 2." The leader of rage-powered Red Lantern Corps, Atrocitus is out to exact his fury against all heroes. Atrocitus is a relatively recent addendum to the DC universe but he already became a fan-favorite. No wonder that "Injustice 2" decided to capitalize his popularity to catapult the whole franchise.
