Apple's Touch Bar vs Windows Touchscreen: Which Is Better?
Keisuke AkioTouch screens are the latest trend in laptops nowadays. Apple recently launched the Apple's Touch Bar to Mac to stay relevant in the laptop scene. Here is a comparison between Apple's Touch Bar and Windows Touch Screen.
Apple's Touch Bar
Touch Bar is a small multi-touch display, which swaps the traditional function key row at the top of the keyboard and enables Apple users to operate some functions with touch. This Touch Bar is a touchscreen strip, which is an independent Retina display and is capable of altering its appearance based on whatever applications appear on screen during that time.
The Touch Bar gets shoddier when Apple tries to overdo it. In Pages, for instance, the Touch Bar displays at least five types of buttons including one that glides out with a keyboard, one that bursts up new formatting options, two that drill down into scrollable menus, one that drills down into a static menu, and several more that just toggle.
On the advantage side, Apple's Touch Bar provide ergonomic convenience. For example, when you open a browser the tabs appear on the Touch Bar, even with eight tabs open. Touch Bar gives a very practical way to jump from tab to tab. The same goes with iTunes with the dynamic slider controls, which is a much better experience with the Touch Bar, says Forbes.
Windows Touchscreen
Touchscreen is useful in certain scenarios, like when doing a lot of typing and then need to click on a button for filing in a form. With Touchscreen, it is much faster than going to the mouse or trackpad and hunting for the cursor.
Nothing works as well as just touching the screen and moving what is on it to exactly where you want it. This is especially useful when sprawling on the couch where using the keyboard or trackpad, in general, is a little awkward. A touch screen allows for more sitting positions as you browse.
How To Geek notes that Windows Touchscreen is fast, stress-free, and spontaneous. The touchscreen is the reason why smartphones and tablets have become so popular. With Windows, Microsoft has provided a desktop OS that can benefit from touch, without disrupting from desktop functionality.
