World’s First Google Tango Has Landed On The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro: Features Huge Display; Specs, Price & Availability

As the first Tango phone, it's going to be a must-buy for some people. Tango is definitely something to be excited about; and some folks may get this phone just to get in on the ground with the technology. The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro has the hardware it needs to do augmented reality well. However, the issue of being an early adopter is present here all the same.

At the moment, there just isn't much being offered in the way of Tango apps. The Phab 2 Pro being the first Tango phone to hit the market has a problem every new technology faces -- and the level of excitement surrounding it means that some consumers may be able to quickly move past this sparse stage in the platform's life.

Phab 2 Pro Specifications & Features

Hot Hardware cites the Phab 2 Pro runs on 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon Octal-Core 652 1.8GHz Processor; 4GB RAM, 64GB storage which supports up to 128GB with microSD, 6.4-inch Quad HD (2560X1440) IPS Assertive Display, 4050mAh, Quick Charge 3.0 Support battery. There are three cameras on the back of the phone; a 16MP Fast-Focus, Tango Depth Sensor (IR Camera), Tango Motion Tracking (Fisheye Camera), 8 megapixels photos, f/2.2 aperture, 1.4 um Big Pixel.

Additionally, the Phab 2 Pro sports 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, 720p HD video recording at 30 fps, 3-axis electronic image stabilization, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass. Colors available are Gunmetal Gray and Champagne Gold.

Price & Availability

There's a well-appointed setup with the massive Phab 2 Pro, which weighs pretty heavy at 9.14 ounces, clearly deserving the "phablet" moniker. It also has an included AC adapter and micro USB sync and charge cable, along with a set of loud and powerful JBL headphones. No USB-C available, but the price is right at around $499 unlocked and ready to roll, according to Slash Gear.

Users can keep in mind that they're getting a fairly mainstream phone runs current-day AR apps well. Equally notable, the Phab 2 Pro also exemplifies Lenovo's first commercially available US handheld.
