'Spider-Man' PS4 Game Different From Square Enix & Marvel 'Avengers' Project; More Avengers To Get Own Titles
Dannel Picaccio Camille Perez LozanoThe "Spider-Man" game for the PlayStation 4 has been confirmed. To make things more interesting, it is said that more superhero games featuring other Avengers are also being made. The question now lies on whether these games are tied, or if they are different franchises altogether.
According to a Twitter post by developer Insomniac Games, the company has stuck on with its project, "Spider-Man." Reportedly, Marvel and Square Enix entered a massive partnership that will extend for a number of years, which can translate to quite a number of news games. This will start with the "Avengers Reassembled" title.
According to Game Pur, this move also hints probable reveals from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, which will most likely hold the individual stories of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and more. However, Insomniac Games clarified that the "Spider-Man" game will be on its own and will be set in a different universe.
So far, the Insomniac Games title is simply labelled "Spider-Man PS4," where players are taken to experience being the mutated web slinger alter-ego of Peter Parker. It promises new combat elements that fans of previous "Spider-Man" players have not seen before, as well as having pivotal plot changes. While the previous games may have tackled on the humble origins of Peter Parker, the upcoming game shows more of an experienced crime fighter who is used to the violence and expertly navigate through the city's slew of evildoers.
The game is also expected to maintain the dramatic life of Peter Parker apart from being Spidey, while trying to save the lives of over nine million New York City inhabitants. "Spider-Man PS4" is expected to release before 2017 ends, with no rating made for the game just yet.
