While Nokia unveiled its Nokia 6 smartphone a few weeks ago, reports are making rounds about a Nokia 8 that could very well be Nokia's flagship killer. It will reportedly have the specs to take on biggies such as Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8. The Nokia 6 is an affordable handset, currently available only in China. HMD Global, manufacturing the Nokia devices has hinted at more Nokia devices by the end of 2017. Nokia 8 leak has revealed some stunning technology that will be incorporated into the device.

According to reports, the Nokia 8 smartphone may come in two variants, one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the other with a Snapdragon 821 chipset. The device was allegedly shown by Qualcomm at the CES 2017 to demonstrate the power of the Snapdragon 835 processor. It was also used to compare the performance of the 835 chip with the Snapdragon 821 chipset. A couple of videos have also provided an extensive look at the device. The flagship is expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2017, unlike Galaxy S8, writes IBT AU.

While some leaks suggest that the Nokia 8 variant with the Snapdragon 835 processor will have 6GB RAM, 24 MP OIS + EIS primary camera, 12MP selfie camera and dual front-facing speakers, the Snapdragon 821 variant will have a 4GB RAM. Camera specs are yet to be revealed. The former is also expected to come with 64/128GB internal storage options with microSD slot. Samsung is reportedly holding back the Snapdragon 835 chipsets till the release of Galaxy S8. This means the Nokia 8 Snapdragon 835 variant may be released later.

The Nokia 8 will have a unibody metal design. HMD Global may remove the front-mounted physical buttons. A heart rate monitor and Carl Zeiss optics are widely anticipated. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is widely-expected to sport a curved QHD or 4K screen design, Iris scanner, AI assistant, 6GB RAM, 4,200 mAh battery and possible dual-lens camera. According to The Guardian, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 and an 8MP front camera.

Fresh reports suggest the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have specs like 64GB internal storage with microSD expansion, 4GB RAM, 3,000 mAh battery for 5.8-inch variant or 3,500 mAh for the 6.2-inch variant, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Will Nokia 8 be able to take on the Samsung flagship?
