"Pokemon Go" is a game that has taken the world by storm recently. Likewise, "Pokemon Go Plus" is also a hit among fans and gamers alike. While gamers were going gaga over "Pokemon Go Plus", there were others who were not fond of it since it never lived up to the standard that "Pokemon Go" has set.
Some gamers have been complaining that "Pokemon Go Plus" could not be played without being tethered to one's phone. While improvements were made in order to address some issues that fans have brought up against it, such improvements came short of salvaging the game from satisfying the fans' expectations. However, Nintendo and Pokemon Company are said to be attempting to rectify this mess by releasing an entirely new device.
Pokemon Company President, Tsunekazu Ishihara said in an interview with Nikkei that the potential risks that the players faced while playing outside has always been a concern to them. He said, "we intended to make a game for people to play outdoors, instead at home." He added that "the potential that players could become too involved in playing the game [that they could walk into danger] was already an issue at an early stage."
In collaboration with Nintendo, Pokemon is considering of developing a new device that can be played more safely, according to Ishihara. This announcement caused excitement and anticipation among fans and gamers alike as they have been waiting for the latest that the game has to offer.
The game is said to have become a hit because it mimics the experience of catching pokemon in the real world (as it is shown in the hit television series). Prior to the hit success of "Pokemon Go", its progenitor, "Pokemon" the anime series has gathered a huge following for more than 10 years already. Imitating the experience of catching Pokemon, like in the Pokemon universe, yields the experience of reliving childhood fantasies that fans have shared with the show over the years.
Whatever device Pokemon has in-store for us, we can only wait with keen anticipation.
