'Kit-Kat' Is Available In More Than 300 Flavors In Japan!

Switchy Sam

It might seem unbelievable but it's a fact that the famous treat "Kit-Kat" is available in more than 300 flavors. This fact is enough to surprise anyone as most people only know the four basic flavors of the chocolate covered wafer biscuit- strawberry green tea (matcha), chocolate, and white chocolate. In a recent post from BendigoAdvertiser, one Australian blogger named Matthew Butler revealed his mission to try all of the variety of flavors of the famous treat. He claimed that the flavors are a balance of good, weird, mundane, and bad.

 One Australian versus 300 flavors

Matthew Butler dedicated himself to take on the challenge to try all of the available flavors of "Kit-Kat" and posted on his Tumblr page.

"I had just finished my Ph.D. and decided I wanted to celebrate by climbing Mt. Fuji and travel around Japan for a month," Butler mentioned.

His wish to travel led him to accomplish something bigger---to test every Kit-Kat flavor. With flavors randomly popping everywhere, people do not know when the next flavor will come out. Recently, Kotaku reported another set of flavors for "Kit-Kat" namely Maguro (tuna), Uni (sea urchin), and Tamago (egg).

Sushi treat instead of sushi-eat

The industry of Japan is very adaptive to current trends and aims to discover more flavors of "Kit-Kat." The sushi version is just the foundation of what Nestle Japan will come up next.

According to Butler, the sushi version of the sweet treats is not entirely sushi with rice and seaweed. Instead, the rice is substituted with rice crispies. It is expected that the Kit-Kat flavors will continue to increase in future in line with the preferences of the people. Cola, Edamame (Japanese beans), Carrot, Aloe Yoghurt, Wasabi, and Apple Vinegar are some of the weirdest and possibly worse tasting flavors, as graded by Matthew Butler himself.
