"Game of Thrones" fans are in for some neat treats from George R.R. Martin, the man behind the hit novel where "GOT" is adapted from. The "A Song of Ice and Fire" author just recently took to his blog to delight fans with another story of his writing called "The Sons of the Dragon." The novel is based on Westeros and fans might enjoy it as they wait for Martin's highly awaited book, "The Winds of Winter."

In Martin's blog, he confirmed that "The Sons of the Dragon" will see the reign of Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel. Both are reportedly Targaryen kings from the untold history of the show "Game of Thrones." Fans who are interested to know more about the political system in Westeros before the events in the series will truly appreciate "The Sons of the Dragon."

However, Martin clarified that "The Sons of the Dragon" is just a story from an anthology titled "The Book of Swords." He made it clear that he wrote a story for the lineup but he is not the editor or co-editor of the book. "'THE BOOK OF SWORDS' is not my book. I didn't write but a small part of it, and I didn't edit it, nor even co-edit it," the author explained.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated novel "The Winds of Winter" is expected to be released this year as pointed out by Mobile&Apps. The report detailed Martin's comments in his previous blog where he revealed that there is a possibility for the book to come out this year. Fans, however, are advised not to get their hopes too high because the author is not sure about the release yet.

"Game of Thrones," on the other hand, is soon to air its seventh season in Summer while "The Book of Swords" that contain "The Sons of the Dragon" will launch in October. Check out a teaser of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 below.
