"Pokemon Duel" is a game in the Pokemon franchise that does not involve the catching of Pokemons in the outside world. Instead, it is more like a chess or checkers game which is played online and which requires strategic and skillful thinking. With this in mind, players require the mastery of evolution strategies, board placement, team construction, and resource management among others in order to complete all of the available levels in the game's campaign series.

The challenges posed by and in "Pokemon Duel" renders it difficult for players to edge over the other more experienced ones. However, the following are some tips that will aid players, especially the beginners, in winning matches and leveling up in the said game.

Firstly, players need to learn how to block his/her opponent's spawn points. This can be done by placing a pokemon on one of the opponent's spawn points. Doing so would disallow the opponent in bringing other pokemons into the match as s/he will be stuck with only the pokemons that s/he already has on the board. By defeating all of the opponent's remaining Pokemon would result in what is called a WaitWin. This strategy is best utilized when a player has a strong matchup against the Pokemon that are present on the board.

Players must focus on winning instead of battling. Battling, although fun while playing "Pokemon Duel", may cause distraction to players. One should keep in mind that the primary purpose is winning the duel by way of landing a Pokemon unto the goal spot. If a player invests his/her time and resources in chasing the opponent's Pokemon across the board might prove to be a dangerous gamble as it might lead to a player's losing. One should, therefore, not lose focus in winning the game.

Players must also learn to calculate battle odds. "Pokemon Duel" utilizes a system that is reminiscent of the popular rock, paper, scissros game. But instead of rock, paper, and scissors, the available options for players cover colors such as blue, white, purple, and red. Players should check his/her Pokemon's move sets and statistics before throwing down against an opponent's figure.

Sometimes, it would be better if some of the members of the team would run for the goal instead of knocking other figures off the board. Players should learn to strategize well. It might be helpful for a team to have a few runners and a few defenders. Usually, Pokemon who have high MPs constitute the best runners.

Players must also evolve their Pokemon. Collecting an evolved form of Pokemons is helpful. When doing so, players must make sure that they are set to evolve in the middle of the battle. Doing so gives a boost to the evolved Pokemon's stats and often proves to be beneficial than initiating with an evolved form in the lineup.

Players should also need to learn how to surround the opponent. The most efficient way of knocking off opponent's figures off the board is by way of flanking it from both sides. Once a Pokemon is surrounded, it will automatically be knocked off following a next attack without the necessity to spin on the roulette wheel. Players should keep in mind to place his/her figures in spots where they have less difficulty teaming up on an enemy. In doing so, it should not be forgotten to be careful in not trapping own figures in a corner in which they can be trapped and kicked off.

Lastly, players should use cards/plates. In the course of the game, players have a total of six points to spend on Plates in the deck edit screen of the game. Players should not hesitate in using these when necessary. Usually, the special abilities require recharging after each battle and usually are important in making the difference especially in winning. These tips should be helpful in helping players in winning in matches. "Pokemon Duel" is currently available on mobile devices.
