'Gears of War 4' Latest Update Brings February Map With A Weeklong Valentine's Event & Two New Maps
Keisuke Akio"Gears of War 4" received its latest February Map update in February 7. The update adds two new maps, a weeklong Valentine's event, new gear packs to collect and further enhancements to the game.
"Gears of War 4" Valentine's Event
The "Gears of War 4" Valentine's event will start on February 10, or three days after the February Map update started. The event will give players a chance to get new Gear Packs and acquire appropriately themed bounties. In addition, players can also collect a new Craftable Character and a Cupid-style Toque Bow Tag during the event.
February Map Update
The "Gears of War 4" February Map update brings two maps. One is the Impact Dark map, a restructured version of the Impact that totally re-imagines the combat dynamics of the original. This latest map permanently reduced visibility caused by smoke that has developed over the battlefield, forcing players to get closer to the action.
In addition, every weapon swap has been altered to change the flow of the map. With the Impact Dark map, Boltoks now replaced Snipers, Torque/EMBAR is now replaced by Dropshot. In addition, Overkill now replaces where Incendiaries used to be.
With the "Gears of War 4" February Map update, a new version of Impact now plays in an entirely unique plane from its original brethren. The amalgamation of close range weapon swaps and reduced visibility boosts the pace for a more intense version of Impact.
This time, players need to stay on their toes to win. Moreover, support players will need to take bigger risks to influence fights. Reduced visibility will make reading the battlefield harder for even the most competitive teams.
War Machine
"Gears of War 4" February Map update also brings along the exemplary classic War Machine. War Machine is now fixed in a new COG Settlement. It still features the familiar turret and respective battles for the Sniper and Torque, says Slash Gear.
