One of the most common dilemmas of iPhone users is how to identify people calling you when you are busy doing something and do not have time to glance at your screen. Many do not want to waste their time picking up the phone if the caller is unknown or someone they are not willing to talk to.

Identify caller in an instant

There are actually a few ways to save iPhone users' time and effort especially when they want to immediately know who is on the other side of the line. AppAdvice said that an iPhone 7 user or anybody owning a device running on iOS 10 or newer can tap Siri to tell them the name of the person calling.

Siri's help

Under the Settings tab, iPhone users would simply need to go to Phone options then set Announce calls to "Always." This will prompt Siri to say the name of the person calling you except when a phone is on silent mode.

Apple device owners can also opt to activate this feature using their headphones or car stereo only. It will be more accessible and easier for users to identify the people calling them.

Customize ringtones

There is also the choice to assign ringtones to your contacts. LifeWire explained that this will also help iPhone owners know who is calling them in an instant.

To be able to customize the ringtones for contacts, iPhone owners would need to go to the Contacts menu, choose a contact by tapping their name, choosing the Edit tab on the top right corner, then Ringtones and choosing the alert tone you want for that contact. This will help users identify people by simply listening to the ringtones when someone is calling.

Assign vibration patterns

If an iPhone owner is on silent mode, he can still identify a caller through vibration patterns. AppAdvice added users would need to enable vibrations for alerts on their phones before setting this feature.

To do this, they would need to go to the Settings application, choose Sounds, Ringtone, Vibration then Create New Vibration. They can then create a vibration pattern by holding the screen.
