NykeFaller used the game's create-a-player mode to put Obama, or someone who very much looks like him, in the game. The video now has more than 260,000 views.
Obama is keeping defenders up all night with a plethora of go-to moves to excite the Charlotte crowd. The ex-president is seen driving the rock and dealing out sick crossovers. Plus, with the usual "no regard for human life" highlights that are capped off with a facial windmill dunk. The former president then ended the "NBA 2K17" montage by dancing with the shimmy. In other news, the NBA will launch an e-league that is represented by its 30 teams. According to CNET, a competitive e-sports league based on Take-Two's "NBA 2K17."
The e-league is scheduled to start on the 2018-2019 NBA season. The league will feature a five-man team from each NBA team. The league will be the first of its kind and will be the first US professional sports organization to hold such a competition.
The upcoming 2K league comes two months after the "NBA 2K17" All-Star Tournament, where e-sport teams are competing for a $250,000 prize. The finals will take place on February 17, during All-Star weekend in New Orleans.
NBA "2K17" has already sold almost 7 million units. It is on pace to become Take-Two Interactive's best-selling sports game. With the increasing global popularity of e-sports today, the NBA is making a good investment with this move. Popular games like "Dota 2" and "CS Go" are making good revenue from its players via this platform.
Recently, the Philadelphia 76ers became the first US sports franchise to join e-sports, acquiring two teams in October last year and merging them under Team Dignitas. Several other teams have followed suit. The Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks have joined the bandwagon. The Memphis Grizzlies have also recently bought stakes in an e-sport team.
