"DOTA 2" is undergoing a lot of changes in its gameplay. This was evidenced by a GIF submitted by Reddit user OraCLesofFire. It is really disheartening to see that these recent modifications and changes in "DOTA 2" have deteriorated the abilities of certain heroes in the game.
One of the most important changes in "DOTA 2" includes the new feature of Talent Trees. The GIF mentioned shows Phantom Assassin hurling a dagger at Nyx Assassin. The dagger attack of Phantom gives a critical blow on impact. Every once in a while, mostly towards the end of a match when the hero is fully powered, the dagger can cause immense damage and kill enemies with relative ease even from a distance.
However, as one can see from the GIF, Nyx Assassin (intended to be destroyed by the dagger attack) completely changed the result of the attack. This was made possible only with the recent changes and overhauls been made to "DOTA 2". The dagger doubles the damage on the hero himself. Before the current update, every hero had a few abilities of their own and had three different stats. Each level awarded one point to the player to dump into any of such ability or to count towards stats.
The update does not change this but it allowed a layer of customization to be added to the game that enables players to choose between buffs before they reach desired levels. These tradeoffs are usually pretty direct and can help in making the players either defensive or offensive. One can also choose between shorter cool down time for the player or choose magic over physical damage.
For Nyx Assassin, the player can choose between adding to their own abilities and speed or doubling the damage inflicted on others by almost 200% with the help of a feature called Spiked Carapace. In the GIF, the latter was chosen and it basically took the damage sent by an enemy and doubled it and sent it back to them. The result was that an otherwise strong end-game hero, Phantom Assassin was instantly killed by a relatively weak dagger attack. To know more updates in "DOTA 2", keep browsing MobileNApps!
