'Final Fantasy XV' VR Will Feature New Game Content, But Don't Expect It Any Time Soon
JPA "Final Fantasy XV" Virtual Reality version may not be released any time soon but players can expect that it will feature new "FFXV" contents once it is launched. Hajime Tabata revealed in a recent interview that the team intends to create a new experience for its players if a VR version is released.
"Final Fantasy XV" director, Hajime Tabata, revealed in a recent interview with Polygon that his team is currently experimenting with different ideas for the application of new tech. This includes trying their hand with VR development.
There have been several reports in the past that a "Final Fantasy XV" VR version is being developed. This has been bolstered by the fact that Square Enix has featured a "Final Fantasy XV" Virtual Reality experience during the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) albeit being very limited.
The current trend in video game Virtual Reality adaptations is to take the current game and simply launch it in VR, however, the "Final Fantasy XV" team will not take the same path for the "FFXV" VR version. According to Tabata, his team back in Square Enix does not want to release just a rehashed version of the game in VR.
The "FFXV" video game director also revealed that his team wants to take their time in figuring out what direction they will take. He also revealed that, when it comes to the "Final Fantasy XV" VR version, the "FFXV" team wants to take things in a newer direction.
The game's development team back in Square Enix is not content in just giving fans a prettier version of something that they have already seen. Though fans will not be able to see a "Final Fantasy XV" VR version anytime soon, they can take comfort with the fact that they will be having a new experience once it is released.
