Man Catches Rare ‘Pokemon GO’ Monster Lapras But Dies Of Heart Attack
Vittorio HernandezOne of the rare digital monsters on “Pokemon GO” is Lapras, and a 67-year-old Singaporean man caught Lapras on Sunday. However, catching the rare monster excited Liang Weiming so much that he collapsed moments after the incident.
He first attended a birthday dinner for a family member and then went “Pokemon GO” hunting for monsters at the Marina Bay Sands hotel. After capturing Lapras, Liang Weiming felt sick.
Granbull Too
After he went into cardiac arrest, the old man’s phone was reviewed and it revealed that it was not only Lapras that Liang Weiming caught. He also captured a legendary “Pokemon GO” monster, Granbull, the New York Post reported.
According to 66-year-old Chen Ma Li, the victim’s wife, she received a phone call from the hospital after 6 p.m. who told her to see Liang Weiming for the last time. According to paramedics, Laing Weiming was rushed to the Singapore General Hospital at around 5:30 p.m. and he died shortly after playing “Pokemon GO,” the country’s Civil Defense Force says.
Liang Weiming, who has a history of cardiovascular disease, had captured more than 200 kinds of monster and reached Level 28 in “Pokemon GO” before he died, Metro reports.
Tips To Catch Lapras
To find Lapras of “Pokemon GO,” Twinfinite recommends checking around bigger bodies of water such as rivers, lakes, and oceans where there is a higher rate of water-type Pokemon. Although Lapras is not limited to bodies of water only, to have higher chances of capturing the monster, another tip is to stick to PokeStops near bodies of water.
When in Southern California area and playing “Pokemon GO,” the places where Lapras tend to spawn are near the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach where other rare monsters such as Dragonair, Porygon, Hitmonlee, and Dragonite often lurk.
