Much to the delight of Apple's pro user base, the Cupertino tech titan debunked rumors centering on the company's plan to oust the Mac. While speaking to a few tech journalists recently, Apple execs said, on the contrary, they're prepping to unveil a brand new Mac Pro design, and a pro variant of the iMac is already in the works.

As far as the Mac Pro is concerned, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple Inc, Phil Schiller said in a note interpreted by Daring Fireball (via BGR), that the tech firm has designated a team that's currently working on the Mac Pro. He said Apple plans to completely rethink the Mac Pro and developers want to architect it in order to ensure it never ceases receiving regular improvements. Also, Apple is bent on making the next Mac Pro the company's highest-end desktop system for their clamorous pro customers.

While the iPhone maker did not divulge adequate details on the subject of the iMac Pro; Schiller pointed out that the machine will be created bearing the pro customers in mind. Throwing more light on this, a blog post from Pike's Universum (via MacRumors) spills the beans about Apple's purported iMac Pro's hardware specs, launch window and more. Let's delve straight into the details.

iMac 2017 Release Date

Citing a source allegedly well-acquainted with Apple's plans, the blog suggests the iMac Pro will hit the store shelves in late October and sport a new keyboard design. Interestingly, this revelation coincides with recently published Apple patents that hint at the inclusion of the Touch Bar on the iMac. The company debuted the Touch Bar on Apple MacBook Pro 2016.

iMac 2017 Specifications

In terms of specifications, the 2017 iMac will pack Intel E3-1285 v6 processor, under the hood. It will come with 16GB of ECC memory, which can be upgraded to 32GB or 64GB, according to TrustedReviews.

Moreover, it will boast faster NVMe SSD's (up to 2TB) and AMD graphics to support VR (virtual reality) and Pro apps. The new iMac is also likely to feature Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C gen 2. If that isn't good enough to sweep you off your feet, the unnamed sources claim the new Mac Pro will come with an 8K display and the new Mac mini, will not be a mere mini anymore.
