RedMagic 9 Pro Globally Released: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB+ RAM, Starting at $649
Austin JayZTE has shown off the RedMagic 9 Pro globally, putting it out there just before ASUS lets everyone see the ROG Phone 8.
At first, they only talked about the RedMagic 9 Pro and the RedMagic 9 Pro Plus in China, but the Pro Plus won't be available to everyone. Still, what you get with the RedMagic 9 Pro is the same no matter where you are, like its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and massive 6,500 mAh battery that can charge super fast with 80W wired charging.
This gaming phone has an impressive 6.8-inch screen, with it being an AMOLED that does 2,480 x 1,116 pixels and has a 120Hz refresh rate plus hitting an incredible 1,600 nits max brightness. The screen's BOE Q9+ panel makes the most of the visible area with its flat look and under-display camera.
To keep things cool when you play games hard, the RedMagic 9 Pro comes with a 10,182 mm2 vapor chamber and a 22,000 RPM fan, so the phone doesn't slow down from getting too hot.
Preorders open on December 27; anyone can buy it starting January 3, 2024. You can get it in different places around the world, and it comes in some other versions at varying prices to suit everyone.
The RedMagic 9 Pro has an awesome camera setup with a huge 50-megapixel primary camera, another huge 50-megapixel wide camera, and a tiny 2-megapixel close-up camera.
Made for game lovers, it has pressure buttons on the side and a unique screen to control its RedMagic OS 9 software powered by Android 14. Connectivity options include 5G support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and NFC.
Its gaming features are helped by a vast 6,500 battery that can charge super fast with an 80-watt charger. The black version, Sleet, comes with 12 gigabytes of space and 256 gigabytes of memory for $649, £579, or €649. But the silver version, named Snowfall, and the see-through version, called Cyclone, get 16 gigabytes of memory and 512 gigabytes of space for $799, £709, or €799.
People worldwide can preorder from December 27, until sales start on January 3, 2024.
