The long-heard rumors of a white Nexus 4 from Google and LG are turning out to be true as a set of leaked images show the Google phone in white color with the sparkling back.
The real images of white Nexus 4 were never released, but now, PhoneArea released an image of a white Google phone which. According to the EXIF data on the image, it is believed to be taken with an LG Optimus G last week.
This could mean that the image has been captured by someone working at LG. PhoneArea said the image could be a real thing as they tested the image through FotoForensics to check if it was photoshopped.
Meanwhile, an entire gallery of images of beautiful looking white Nexus 4 images surfaced in a Vietnamese Web site tinhte.vn. Taking a close look at the device, the front of the device looks identical to the black Nexus 4 with all-black bezels while LG went for a really crisp white for the phone's back casing. Redmondpie notes that these images were also taken with an LG Optimus G, one of LG's flagship Android devices, suggesting that the images were taken by an LG employee.
The device has been out of stock for most of its lifetime and has been affected by logistics issues such as a difficult ordering process on Google Play. However, the latest leaked images come just after the day Nexus 4 returned to the Google Play store.
The Nexus 4 black edition was finally released in November last and it went on to become a huge hit thereafter. The smartphone is developed in a joint venture between LG and Google and the software giant sees the line of Nexus phones as the ideal Android smartphones, which it would set as the benchmark for other Android smartphone makers to follow.
Nexus 4 comes with the latest smartphone-grade hardware consisting of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip and a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. The device runs on the latest version of Android operating system, Jelly Bean 4.2.1.
There were speculations that a white version of Nexus 4 is being developed and would get an official release last December, which never happened. Though neither Google nor LG have confirmed the release date of the white Nexus 4, with the latest set of leaked images, it's speculated that the makers are planning to roll out the device in the near future.
The Nexus 4 smartphones are available in 8GB and 16GB storage capacities and is sold for $299 or $349 through the Google Play Store.
