News of an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update made many Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners very happy, but the joy was short-lived.
While new firmware updates usually mean some great new features and exciting performance enhancements, in this case the update brought more headaches than good news.
According to PhoneArena, quite a few owners of the Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX are facing issues with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update and wish they didn't accept it in the first place.
Issues after the Android 4.1.2 update seem far from minor. One source tells PhoneArena that his Motorola Droid RAZR is now a nightmare: when he is on a call and another call comes through, the handset now drops both conversations. The widgets placed on the screen no longer update their status, while some apps stopped working altogether. A Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX owner, meanwhile, says the only part of the phone that was left unaffected by the hellish update is the long battery life.
According to PhoneArena's tipster, Verizon acknowledged receiving numerous complaints about the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the two handsets. The Big Red reportedly notified Motorola of the issues.
For now, however, the only hope is that another update will soon roll out to fix the bugs currently wreaking havoc on the two phones. An Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update should normally mean great things for the device in question, but it seems that things can't go smoothly for everybody.
The Motorola Droid RAZR and Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX got their system upgrades to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean earlier this month. The update brings Project Butter and Google Now to the phones, but the issues reported so far seem to outweigh the benefits of the new software.
In conclusion, those who didn't get around to updating their Droid RAZR or RAZR MAXX handset to Android 4.1.2 might want to think twice before accepting the upgrade. The best thing now seems to be to wait for another update that would fix the bugs.
