Evad3rs, the team of four prominent hackers, worked really hard to find the untethered jailbreak for A5+ powered devices running iOS 6. But the iOS 6 users were disappointed as the latest iOS update from Apple, iOS 6.1.3, patched the evasi0n jailbreak.
People who are still using iOS 6.1.2 or earlier on their iDevices can still enjoy the evasi0n jailbreak on their devices; however, after updating to iOS 6.1.3 the chances of getting jailbreak on an A5+ device are impossible.
Although there are recent developments about finding some crucial exploits in the iOS 6.1.3, finding an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 on A5+ devices still looks impossible as key developers like pod2g and P0sixninja want to concentrate something big like iOS 7 or advanced instead of putting in 'so much' efforts for a small thing like iOS 6.1.3.
P0sixninja (Joshua Hill), just a couple of days ago, had tweeted that people should expect lesser jailbreaks as with the time the process of finding a jailbreak is becoming harder.
"As jailbreaking becomes harder and harder expect fewer and fewer," he tweeted.
P0sixninja started the whole debate of finding the iOS 6.1.3 exploit last week saying, "Well, so far it looks like the next jailbreak might be created entirely by me." However, the hacker did not clarify which iOS version the jailbreak will belong to. He, just after sometime tweeted, "Evad3rs haven't gone anywhere, I've just discovered all the needed exploits on my own over the past few months."
These two tweets gave a big hope to people using iOS 6.1.3 on their A5+ devices and people started posting queries on the Twitter accounts of P0sixninja as well as Pod2g.
Replying to a question P0sixninja tweeted, "Look, I said 'the next jailbreak' I never said 6.1.3. If you read that article, you'd see I said 7.0.x or maybe even 7.1.x."
To a query, "@pod2g are you guys working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak? Or did apple patch it completely," Pod2g clarified tweeting, "We are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts for a minimal update. We're waiting for a major release."
As the big hackers have already got a number of exploits in the iOS 6.1.3 and now waiting for Apple to release iOS 7 to use those exploits in the upcoming jailbreak, it is time for the users of Apple devices to ask about the release of the iOS 7.
According to recent reports, Apple is running behind its schedule of releasing the iOS 7. Prominent blogger John Gruber dropped a clear hint at the recently held Branch discussion and said, "What I've heard: iOS 7 is running behind, and engineers have been pulled from OS X 10.9 to work on it."
There are talks that Apple can release the iOS 7 during this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), but Gruber has a different opinion about it.
"I don't think they would want to unveil the new iPad at WWDC alongside iOS 7, because the new iPad won't ship with iOS 7. It'd be weird to introduce the iPad and do demos of crufty old iOS 6 and then moments later show off the new hotness of iOS 7," he said.
There are also reports that the iOS 7 will be released along with the next iPhone during this summer. If that is the case, Apple will be releasing the iOS 7 beta version for its developers so they can start testing the new firmware and test it OK before its launch that is expected to take place somewhere in June this year.
