Samsung Galaxy S4 devices have yet to reach the hand of their users but Samsung has paved way for the custom ROMs based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) handsets.
Samsung released the official firmware of the Galaxy S4 that is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung always releases the firmware of any of its devices before the launch of the actual device, and this time too, the Korean company has kept the tradition intact.
SamMobile reported on the release of the firmware and posted the firmware details given below:
Firmware Details:
Android Version: 4.2.2 - Build JDQ39
PDA: I9500ZCUAMDG
CSC: I9500CHNAMDG
MODEM: I9500ZCUAMDF
Build Date: April 24
Changelist: 465806
The firmware is available for download in China right now, but it will soon be available across the world.
We are seeing a growing number of custom ROMs based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but so far the custom ROM for the Galaxy S4 devices was not developed, as the firmware wasn't released.
Now with the release of the firmware, we will be able to see a series of custom ROMs based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S4 very soon.
Samsung is expected to sell close to 10 million Galaxy S4 units in the first month of its launch and many of them will want to customize the five-incher at their convenience.
"Sources predict demand within the first month of the launch will be around 10 million units and 30 million in the second quarter of 2013 as the penetration rate of smartphones continues to grow and Samsung is currently the leading brand. In addition, the Galaxy S4 has better features than the Galaxy S3, hence sales of the product are expected to exceed its predecessor," DigiTimes reported.
The Galaxy S4 was rooted before its actual release earlier this month and developers will not have to work very hard to root this device, as the platform to customize its features is already set.
It might also be possible that by the time the device reaches the hands of its users, the custom ROM for the smartphone would be available and the user will not waste any time to get down to the rooting business.
