After what seems like forever, Twitter has finally updated its app for Windows Phone 8 with 6 months old features. These features found their way to the Android and iOS versions of the app back in December 2012, but as usual, Windows Phone 8 users have to play the ever popular waiting game.
Similar to its Android and iOS counterparts, Twitter for Windows Phone 8 introduces eight filters, Vignette, Warm, Cool, 1963, 1972, Golden Hour, Antique, and Black & White. These filters can be applied to new photos or existing ones from the photo gallery. Adding the filters is easy - just select the desired picture, hit the filters button and choose the one you prefer.
Furthermore, the new Twitter app has added a new camera lens feature where users can snap a photo, filter it and post it inside a Tweet without having to manually power up the app. It's pretty straightforward and works great, but sometimes it is a little slow to get going, though it is not a deal breaker.
Another great addition to the newly updated Twitter app for Windows Phone 8, is the ability for users to playback Vine videos from within a Tweet. At the moment, a Vine app for Windows Phone 8 is not in the store, but having the ability to playback Vine content in the new Twitter app should be enough to hold users over for a while until Vine makes its way to the store.
Lastly, there's a new integrated Tweet composer, which is seamless and works really well.
