Samsung Galaxy S4 Gold Edition will launch to challenge gold iPhone 5S
Alexandra BurlacuApple seems to have inspired Samsung with its gold iPhone 5S, as gold Samsung Galaxy S4 models are reportedly en route.
The gold treatment has proved very successful for the freshly-launched iPhone 5S, as this color option has reportedly seen the highest demand. As it turns out, Samsung has taken a page out of Apple's playbook and will launch its own Galaxy S4 in a gold color option.
Samsung Gulf has posted a new image on its Facebook page, teasing the Samsung Galaxy S4 in Gold Brown and Gold Pink color options. Moreover, Samsung Arabia has also announced the new Galaxy S4 Gold Edition in a recent post on Twitter.
"Introducing the new #GalaxyS4 Gold Edition - for a style that is uniquely yours!" reads the tweet from Samsung Mobile Arabia.
Considering that both teasers come from official Samsung channels, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Gold Edition should launch soon enough, but there is no word yet on the pricing or availability of this model. This version of the smartphone will likely reach only selected markets that will apparently include Gulf countries.
Aside from the new coating, the Galaxy S4 Gold Edition is expected to have the same specifications under the hood. For those unfamiliar with the device, the new Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphone sports a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, packed at a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (ppi).
The global version of the handset features an Exynos octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy S4 also sports a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 made its debut earlier this year as the successor to the wildly-popular Galaxy S3. The new iteration proved to be a huge hit as well, and consumers will most likely welcome new color options for the handset. Samsung has yet to announce which markets will get to see the new editions of the Galaxy S4 in Gold Brown and Gold Pink. It also remains unclear at this point when these versions will launch and whether they will sport the same price tag as the original models. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
