HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update reaching Europe in 3-5 weeks

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update is apparently ready to hit HTC One owners in the UK, with more European countries likely to follow shortly.

When it comes to Android software updates, U.S. users are typically getting the new firmware a while after other regions. This time, the U.S. was the first to get the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware for the HTC One, while the rest of the world is still waiting for the new OS version.

Sprint and AT&T customers in the U.S. have already received the firmware upgrade and T-Mobile is set to start rolling out the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on Monday, Oct. 21. Verizon, as usual, will be the last one to roll out the new software. Big Red customers will get the new Jelly Bean by the end of the month.

HTC America President Jason Mackenzie has provided regular updates regarding the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean rollout schedule and now HTC UK has offered details about the update rollout in that region.

"We are expecting to release #JellyBean 4.3 update in the UK in 3-5 weeks," HTC UK tweeted on Monday, Oct. 21.

While there's no mention so far on when other European countries may get the update, the imminent UK rollout suggests that the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update may soon see a wider rollout globally. Keep in mind, however, that firmware updates don't depend only on the manufacturer, as certain carriers can delay the update process.

With the U.S. HTC One owners getting the latest Jelly Bean flavor by the end of this month (if not already) and the UK to follow shortly, all users in other countries should be able to get the new firmware by the holidays. Android 4.4 KitKat should also make its debut by then, which makes a wider Android 4.3 rollout even more plausible.

Rumor has it that the European version of the HTC One firmware upgrade will not only bring Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but also the latest HTC Sense 5.5 upgrade. The U.S. update did not include the new Sense version, but may add it by the end of the year.
