The HTC One Mini is in for a treat, as the handset is reportedly receiving an update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.5.
The flagship HTC One has already received the latest flavor of Jelly Bean in major markets, and even Verizon announced that it would roll out the update "early next week" in the U.S. With the flagship all set, it's now the turn of the smaller HTC One Mini to get the goodies.
The HTC One Mini has proved to be quite a popular device, bringing many of the flagship HTC One's most appreciated features to a smaller, more affordable device. The more compact version of the smartphone comes with watered-down specifications to accommodate a lower price tag, but the new software update should make it more attractive.
According to a new report from PocketNow, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is currently rolling out to the HTC One Mini, complete with an improved Sense 5.5 UI. The update reportedly brings many new features and improvements, including enhancements to BlinkFeed and Video highlights with an updated interface. Users will also have the option to disable BlinkFeed altogether, if they so prefer.
The latest update will also allow HTC One Mini users to access various recommended news from different social networks, save articles for later reading, create custom news feeds for Facebook, Twitter, and RSS, and more. As expected, as slew of bug fixes and improvements are also in the cards.
The HTC One Mini Android 4.3 update package reportedly weighs in at 630MB and should reach the handset in the coming days. As always, the update rollout will be a gradual process, which means that it may take some time to reach all users and devices.
The update is rolling out in stages and has already reached some HTC One Mini handsets, but if you haven't received it yet and you don't want to wait for the OTA notification you can always check for the update manually by accessing the Settings menu on your smartphone.
On the other hand, if you're among the lucky first to get this update, please let us know how it fares in the comment section below.
