The HP Omni 10 tablet running Windows 8.1 and packing an Intel Atom Z3770 quad-core processor is now available in the U.S. for a $350 starting price.
The company unveiled its HP Omni 10 tablet back in October and the slate has now finally gone on sale. It is the first Windows tablet from HP that packs a powerful quad-core Intel Atom processor.
HP's UK site currently lists the Omni 10 as available for order and "available within 28 days," while the U.S. site shows the tablet as "available December 2013." In the meantime, the slate is already up for grabs from retailers in the U.S.
Office Depot is currently selling the HP Omni 10 for $350. Amazon lists the same price for the tablet, but it currently appears as back-ordered. The HP Omni 10 is also available from the Microsoft Store for the full price of $399.
"Instantly responsive, incredibly fast, and entirely intuitive, the HP Omni 10 powered by the latest Intel Atom processor Z3000 series delivers next generation performance," reads the product description on HP's website. "With the versatility of Windows 8.1, the productivity of MS Office Home Edition 2013 and 2HD cameras to take and share photos, it goes from the boardroom to your living room without missing a beat."
The HP Omni 10 features a 10.1-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, five-point multitouch and Gorilla Glass 2 protection. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The tablet comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity and a microSD card slot for additional memory.
In terms of connectivity options, the HP Omni 10 tablet features microUSB and HDMI ports, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and Miracast wireless display technology.
If you can't wait until HP makes the Omni 10 Windows 8.1 tablet available through its own website, you can now grab the slate from Office Depot, Amazon, or the Microsoft Store. If you'd rather wait and make your purchase directly from HP, the company allows interested customers to register their interest in the product and receive notifications regarding its release.
