Santa just came by for Nvidia Tegra Note 7 owners and brought along a nice holiday surprise: a software update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The software update is rolling out now over the air (OTA) and in addition to the new Jelly Bean version, it will bring support for left-handed stylus use, as well as always-on HDR functionality.
"We've enhanced the Tegra NOTE stylus experience, adding support for left-handed users and improvements in overall response. We've also added a DirectStylus help option under the device's settings menu, a stylus removal and insert notification on the notification bar, and given users the ability to capture the notification bar with full-screen capture," announced Nvidia.
"In addition to these new features, Tegra NOTE 7's camera gets always-on high-dynamic range (AOHDR) capability, which provides more lifelike images across a range of lighting conditions. AOHDR utilizes Tegra 4's processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture. We've also added video stabilization for shake-free video, in addition to tuning and optimizations to improve camera performance under certain lighting conditions."
Nvidia pushed the software update to Tegra Note 7 tablets around the world. The tablet is sold under several brands worldwide, including EVGA, ADVENT, Gigabyte, Shenzen Homecare Technology, ZOTAC and XOLO, and all of these versions should receive the OTA soon.
According to Nvidia, the overall stylus experience is now better following this update, and left-handed users should see a notable improvement. The tablet's notification bar now also shows when the stylus is removed from the device. The always-on HDR function, meanwhile, should provide better images when using the slate's 5-megapixel camera. The update also allows users to move apps and app data from the device's internal memory to an external microSD card.
The update will also bring along the slew of goodies that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has to offer. It may not be the very latest version of Android anymore, but it still adds some notable improvements. If you are an Nvidia Tegra Note 3 owner and have received the latest OTA update, drop by out comment section below and let us know how it fares.
