Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet owners can now enjoy an extended battery life thanks to a new Mugen Power case for the device.
Samsung has started a real trend with its Galaxy Note, charting the territory for large-screen devices with smartphone functionality. If at first industry observers were skeptical on whether consumers would buy a huge smartphone, the phablet trend has really taken off and more companies started to launch their own super-sized smartphones. There is no doubt today that high-end phablets are successful and they are becoming increasingly popular each day.
On the phablet front, Sony has its large-screen Xperia Z Ultra, which boasts a massive 6.4-inch display. However, large displays, high resolutions, powerful processors, and high-end features take a toll on battery life. The new Mugen Power case for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra aims to prolong the battery life of the device so users can enjoy it for longer.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra comes with a 3,050 battery, just like the new-generation Samsung Galaxy Note 3. While for many users that battery might suffice, heavy users may need a little more juice - enter battery cases.
For those power-hungry users, Mugen now has a 4,000 mAh Extended Battery Case for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The new CC-6802 Mugen Power Extended Battery Case accessory is immediately available for order and costs $98.50. Shipping, however, won't start until Jan. 17.
As expected, the case will provide Sony Xperia Z Ultra owners with an additional 4,000 mAh battery to extend the non-removable 3,050 unit the device packs. The bottom of the case has a switch, allowing users to easily toggle between the battery pack and the phablet's own battery.
Moreover, a kickstand will allow users to view video content in a more convenient manner, and the case also includes its own stylus. If you need more juice for your Sony Xperia Z Ultra and would like to purchase the new Mugen Power case, head over to Mugen's site at this link. Remember that the accessory won't ship right away, so even if you place an order now you will still have to wait until Jan. 17 for Mugen to ship it.
