"Gotham City Sirens" has finally been confirmed to be in production, and this has given rise to so many questions about its storyline and direction. They also include the potential start of production and, more importantly, the cast.

After what seemed to be a controversial year for Warner Bros. and DC Comics, with two of their films garnering a majority of lackluster market response, the company confirmed another project yet again. This time, it will involve two other characters that are no strangers to the big screen, teaming up with the returning Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.

According to a recent tweet exchange, fans have been asking when they can expect updates on "Gotham City Sirens," which, in this case, was answered by reporter Mark Hughes. The film will reportedly step on the pedal by summer next year, along with possible news of casting by early 2017. So far, only Margot Robbie has been confirmed, to relive her iconic villainess Harley Quinn character.

A new tease tweet spills how actress Steph Corneliussen wishes to presumably play the role of Poison Ivy, with a photo highlighting how she resembles the said DC villain. Corneliussen can be recalled to be part of the "Arrow" franchise, also under DC and Warner Bros. Although still early, some people already entertain the idea of the actress being in "Gotham City Sirens." These are mere speculations for now.

The plot for "Gotham City Sirens" remains a mystery, Comic Book reports. However, it has been confirmed that "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer will be the one to get the film going.

"Gotham City Sirens" follows the alliance of the three female villains in the Batman universe who join forces to keep each other alive, namely Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman. No release date has been set yet.
